Champlain College and the CCM Division congratulates Communication major, Brianna Newman, for being awarded the 2019 Yankee Chapter PRSSA Awards Scholarship. Newman is a junior working toward a major in Communication and a minor in Event Management and is an active member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter at Champlain. PRSSA faculty advisor Dr. Roz Whitaker-Heck nominated Newman for the scholarship.
“Brianna’s academic record, combined with her initiative and willingness to engage in activities relevant to a career in public relations, including her work with the Champlain College Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter, make her a perfect choice to receive this scholarship award,” said Yankee Chapter President Andrew Morse. “The Yankee Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is pleased to provide this scholarship to a student whose academic career exemplifies the highest standards of our profession. And this year, we are both grateful and proud to once again have the support of EDvestinU®, whose sponsorship made this scholarship possible.”
PRSSA is made up of more than 10,000 students and advisers organized into 300 plus Chapters in the United States, Argentina, Colombia and Peru. The Yankee Chapter is affiliated with the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the world’s largest and foremost organization of public relations professionals, with a membership of 21,000 public relations and communications professionals in the United States.
