Swift at the Box Office from Bulgaria: “Butterflies”

Official Rotten Tomatoes movie critic and Assistant Professor of Filmmaking Julia Swift has returned to mychamplainvalley.com—this time from Bulgaria!—to discuss the new film “Butterflies” by Tolga Karacelik. The film, which is Turkish, was screened at the Sofia International Film Festival in Bulgaria where Swift was in attendance.

“Butterflies” made Swift “laugh so hard [she] cried,” she stated. She plans to bring the film to this year’s Vermont International Film Festival because she believes it will resonate with viewers in America. Films with subtitles like “Butterflies” don’t always get picked up by larger movie theater chains, she explained, which is why bringing it to VTIFF is so important.
