Several faculty members read from their work to an audience of other faculty and students from the Professional Writing program and other programs on Friday, Jan. 19. Students heard the writings of Kel Bachus, assistant professor of Game Design, Rachel Carter, Professional Writing adjunct, Brian Murphy, Core Division assistant professor and Jericho Parms, Professional Writing adjunct. The readings ranged from science fiction to memoir to poetry.
Throughout the rest of this semester the series will continue, though in future readings students will be at the podium. Seniors in the Professional Writing major will have the chance to read their work in front of an audience in the Perry Presentation Room on selected Fridays at 6 p.m.
In partnership with the Center for Publishing and the Professional Writing Program, the readings will take place on Feb. 2, Feb. 23, March 23, and April 13. Each Senior Series, students and faculty will be invited to listen to four Professional Writing majors showcasing works of writing that they have accomplished during their four years at Champlain College.
