Champlain Professor Julia Swift Reviews A Florida Project

My Champlain Valley, powered by Local 22 and Local 44, presents weekly movie reviews by Champlain College professor of filmmaking Julia Swift.

Swift has been reviewing movies for months on the station’s segment, “At the Box Office.” On Nov. 24, she reviewed what she called her “favorite movie in the past two years.” A Florida Project follows a mother and daughter living in a cheap motel in Florida, and though there are dark moments, Swift said the movie was hopeful and joyful and told the story through the child’s perspective.

You can watch the review here. Swift gives great insight into what to expect from the film, even comparing it to other films and documentaries with similar themes and presenting her case for why she thinks A Florida Project is a great movie worth seeing.
