Miwa Matreyek, internationally acclaimed animator, designer, and multimedia artist, is visiting Champlain to discuss her process for creating multimedia artworks incorporating animation, interaction design, music, and live performance on Tuesday, April 14 at 7:00 p.m.
Matreyek’s work has been shown internationally at animation/film festivals, theater festivals, and performance festivals as well as art galleries, science museums, tech conferences, and universities. Some of her previous presentations were at TEDGlobal (UK), the Sundance Film Festival, Animasivo (Mexico), Theatre de la Cité (France), and Santiago a Mil (Chile).
Matreyek is a recipient of the Creative Capital grant for Performing Arts in 2013. She is also a recipient of the Princess Grace Award for film (2007) as well as subsequent Special Project awards from the Princess Grace Foundation.
