Champlain Students to Attend Live Broadcast Debate
Look into the audience of the upcoming governor’s debate and you may see some familiar faces. A small group of Champlain students have been invited to attend a live broadcast of a governor’s debate at local news station, WCAX-TV. The students will watch Democratic candidate Sue Minter and Republican candidate Phil Scott debate on issues facing Vermont.
Christine Lanni, an adjunct professor at Champlain and a producer for the station, extended the invitation for 12 students in the Broadcast Media Production program in the Division of Communication and Creative Media to attend the debate on Oct. 18. The students will see the behind-the-scenes work that happens during live television. The students are also encouraged to come prepared with questions regarding the candidates’ plans and platforms. – Ben Demars, ’18 contributor
